I work at a shipping Terminal , deal with alot of truck drivers all day, im amazed how many of them ride motorcycles. Here's how the conversation usually goes with them:
" That your Rocket there " ...."Yep sure is "......" Hows it go ? "....."Scary fast , stops and corners nice as well "......" i own a *Fatboy*Softail*Shovel*blah blah blah " (like they trying to out impress me) .....i say " So when you getting your open license so you can ride a Trumphy Rocket ? " , they dont see the funny side to that.

You could also go with the "Oh yeah, I know those, it's a cute little bike I guess." Make sure you have the proper amount of pity and more-in-sorrow-than-anger going in the tone of voice as well.

Though I generally don't Harley-bash until they start it first. Which sadly Harley riders often do.

My favorite is when having coffee with a group of Harley riders (8+), 2 guys who came in asked who's riding the Triumph.

In a any toy/poker run we stand out in a crowd with a pride.

Wrecka, I've accidentally said in full seriousness to a bloke that I thought his bike is really cute and I was thinking of buying one for my wife. He got so ****ty but I swear I wasn't being a smart arse, I just said what I was thinking with out really thinking about it but was such a cute looking machine, Sprster 1200 and I reckon my wife would look great on it.

I thought I was being complimentary. After the response I got I use it a fair bit now. Something about 6;5" monsters covered in piercings and tatts, they can't appreciate somebody complementing how pretty or cute their bike is. I can get away with it cause I'm a little fella and they think I must be armed if I'm being a smartarse. LOL
