Grinding sound by right foot...

Thanks.
So what's would be different? I've never had this noise before... just the way that lifter piece is adjusted after the work to replace the clutch? I don't like the sound at all, makes me think there's too little oil in the engine or something :/

The difference could depend on which lifter piece is actually in the bike they have evolved over the years. The thing is without knowing exactly which lifter piece you have its hard saying.
2010 changes in the lifter piece which is the head diameter. I believe this was a great move as it reduces the lifter piece from wallering around in the lifter shaft. I also figure it stops some of the lifter rattling people hear int he clutch.

the difference comparison between the two lifter pieces on the new style clutch (newer style on the left.

here is a comparison of them in the lifter shaft first the old style 06

now the new style which I beleieve came out in the roadster 2010 anyone take a 09 apart let me know what they find so I can verify.

So as they changed lifter pieces shown above the newer one has a thicker shoulder which shortens the axial clearance between the input shaft and the shoulder. So rather then quit selling the old style the added what the call a spacer which I call a washer

So in their infinite wisdom they sell it to every one no matter what style. Another thing to rattle as you can see how sloppy it fist on the lifter piece below

So sloppy on both but most likely compounds therattle noise on the smaller headed and rear shoulder lifter piece. Anyone wondering if their engineers have one more brain cell then a dead cow!!!!

So I mustagain say I do not know which one is in your bike. Maybe try 1 mm free play but remember if you do not have any free play well when she pucks up and you take it apart we will finally know what you have. I have to get back to work on my roof Hermie is not waiting for me to type slow on this darn smart phone
I will check back later and try to add some more info if you need it. Or try a search for lifter piece and specify Warp9.9 and you will see a lot of clutch stuff I posted from my home. I am 1000 miles away from that computer.
