There are a few (more than that) threads about the lights on here. I think the biggest problem is the bowls/reflectors rather than the glass. Depending on how much you want to spend there are multiple options. Myself, I just switched to h4 bulbs but I don't do a lot of night riding anyway. @1olbull put day makers on I think, but pretty sure those are a penny or two!

I LOVE the Daymakers and frequently receive positive comments from others I ride with.

For a less expensive improvement, check out the Susquehanna MotorSports HL79564 improved Euro style headlamps.

1olbull, do you have personal experience with those headlamps?

Considering doing LED setup, but not sure if it's worth the rather considerable expense on a bike that already has pretty good lights.

My only comparison is really my Daytona, which I put in HIDs and thought the world of the its lighting strength and pattern. The Rocket has brighter stock lights than the 'Tona with HIDs in it, they are quite good on mine already.

I would say my R3 lights on High are somewhere between the Highs and Lows on my car. 2013 Dodge, has quite intense lights and REALLY hurts at night if you get hit in the eye with the highs on lol.

Symptoms of second gear failure is it will jump out of gear when you give her a fist full of throttle. The second gear dog ring had 6 dogs on it which made it harder to get in gear and would cause the dogs to round off. Once the dogs are rounded off it will not stay meshed in the gear. the gear has like spokes in it which the dogs grab. Triumph made a design changes dropping to 4 dogs and did some modifications to the internals of the second gear which has helped tremendously plus they changed a spline bushing and washer to a complete splined shoulder bushing on the input shaft. You can still screw it up but then you can also bend the shift forks jamming the gears wrong. The out put drive unit had some bearing problems which I believe is because every now and then one of the blokes on the assembly line installed the front bearing backwards not to mention the only real way for oil to reach the back bearing is by migration. There is also a possibility that the output drive unit might have been assembled in a third world country where they pay by rice, and the people who assembled the engine did not notice the bearing was in backwards. Call it bad quality control in a couple areas. This is why not all bikes have problems. Some actually got put together right. Of course many Triumph dealers say they know nothing of this and unless they did the repair usually would not know. Once you give them the kit part number it does seem to make some sense or return of memory to some who actually new but were blowing smoke up your arse. (not in every case) Personally I think one of the problems is a dealer who sells some other brand of bike gets picked up by Triumph and well they think a motorcycle is a motorcycle no matter which brand and their techs might be good at yahmahoppers but not actually know nothing about Brit machinery. These are the techs that if you had to do surgery on it would be a breeze. I know your asking yourself why would it be a breeze. The answer is there is only two moving parts in their whole body. There Mouth and their Arse Whole AND THEY ARE BOTH INTERCHANGEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not get me wrong their are good dealers and good techs out there but you really have to look or its a crap shoot.

The bowls are pretty easy adjustments for aim points too.
haha, yes, I meant the bowls, reflectors.

The reflectors adjust vertically as the pair and individually in the horizontal plane.
I suppose I could have the aim crossed eyed. o_O

I looked at the Day lighters and the JW Speakers but **** $$$$
