I'm against using a third party to order you Corbin stuff just to save a few bucks. Take it from my experience. After I refused 3 sets of bags and 2 fairings sent from Corbin to my dealer (just to save 10%) because of bad cosmetic flaws. My dealer got real tired of all the headaches and Corbin double charging them. I eventually got a decent set of bags but I did down the road have some trouble with the wrong paint color on my fairing and bags cracked because of heat damage (from stock muffler position) on the right side. I called the dealer and told them my bag was cracked the parts guy immediately replied "your on your own buddy", we are done with Corbin crap. Well when I went to Corbin with my problem and they asked me "did I buy the bags directly from Corbin or from the dealer"? They said I had to go through the dealer, then I had to explain that the dealer won't work with me or you (Corbin). It took alot of convincing for me to get them to help me and considering Corbin's track record on customer service, you don't need a third party involved, take my word for it. Once I got involved with Corbin one on one it wasn't too bad to deal with them. This is what I would do. Buy your bags directly from Corbin, inspect them carefully when you get them. When installing them, remove your upper pipe on the right side and drill the muffler bracket holes bigger, a 1/2" drill bit should do it. And get your self some "Cool Tape" (Advance Discount Auto) and install some additional heat protection right next to (to the rear) of the existing heat barrier that your bags come with. When you re-install your muffler just rotate it down as far away from the bag as possible and tighten up all the bolts and exhaust clamp. This will give you ample room between your bag and the muffler and your bag will not be burned or melted by the muffler and it improves the reveal between the two mufflers. Since doing this I have had no problems. I have about 3/4" clearance now where before it was less than 1/4".
And as far as removing your cat and keeping the stock pipes, yes I did it and had the dealer install a TORS tune, it may be a little richer than the stock tune but better than too lean and my bike runs great. You may want to get a different muffler clamp between your decat and header pipe, mine leaked with the stock one. I got a new gasket and ordered a better header clamp and fixed my exhaust leak for good. http://www.r3owners.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight=
Also off subject but the GIpro w/ ATRE in combination with the decat totally changed my bikes power and feel and I just love it. http://www.r3owners.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight=
