It's the crap that comes on the California bikes, about 8 pounds of stuff, a maze of hoses, a couple wires, and i make it imposible to mout a stebil air horn under the cover. How it ended up in Michigan I ain't got a clue. Seem to run fine without it.... I really don't think you wnat it anyway.. but its yours for freight

I appreciate the offer, but it sounds like a little gas smell is worth not dealing with all that spagetti, lol.

...Do you think the vapors are coming out of the overflow tube? If so, there's not much I can do about it, right?
By resolving the issue through experimentation you will set all at ease. Stick a stopper in it (the overflow tube) for a few night at rest and report back. I've a suggestion: a cheap aquarium one way air valve may be just the ticket. It'll allow overflow fluids to drain but MAY keep the vapor pressure back. The valve is about 3/8 diameter plastic tube with an integrated rubber valve enclosed with a slender narrowing neck on each end. It should stuff right into the distal end of the overflow tube. The total length of the valve body may be about an inch and cheap.
