We all Know that the speedo runs slow, but isn't facinating how accurate the odometer is on the same instrument feeding from the same signal. Is Triumph being nice to the speed demons?

On the Gray Ghost (RIP) the odo was also off by 6%. The Speedo had a consistent 10% error at all speeds. Tough to take that a buried speedo wasn't 140...just 126! Oh well, into each life...

The Odometer is dead ass accurate by my GPS. The speedo is dead ass off by 7%. Makes one think that this all is by design.

Guys, I just read the tuneboy sticky. I think that this guy has the answer dead on...not just close!

Yes it corrects the speedo but I read that it musses the mileage, sure to the lesser, but I'd rather have accurate milage and use the GPS for speed.

Just adjust it so it is 3.5% off, and mileage will favor you by 3.5%, and speed will be off 3.5%. This will probably get to 2.5% when your tire is worn as well...
