Fuel indicator light

Hello Brothers and Sisters. My 2005 Rocket lll's low fuel indicator light comes on when the tank is still 3/4 full. Is this a common problem and us there a easy fix.Hate to take it to a shop if I can do it myself.

Yes a common thing.
Fix: Drain tank and pull out the fuel pump assembly of the tank and carefully bend the float arm on the sender unit. Be very careful when removing the pump assembly as you will need to locate the float and guide it out as it WILL NOT come out without guidance, I have not done this mod myself as the Roadsters are pretty close to being right but I have taken my fuel pump out for an upgrade.

Make sure you bend it the correct way.

Ideally it should come on when you have used about 4.5 gallons, leaving just under 2 gallons in reserve.
