hello to all easterner here in the US
I came to portland from Yarmouth and called ALL triumph dealers within 60 miles of town to get a front tire with installation NOBODY had a front anywhere !!
I found REYNOLD's motorsports in BUXTON ( maine) they said come on in at 9 am will have you on the road by 11 AM AND THEY DID.
they mounted a dunlop elite $270 later back on the road by 11AM that is worth mentioning just in case service are needed by a captain around portland. also should be mentioned the service manager of Big Moose H-D in portland (maine) who phoned around to try to get me on the road again
I had a similar problem at RAA this year. A local Honda dealer fitted a tyre on the front. It was the most expensive tyre that I have had on the RIII, probably on anything that I owned, ever. However, he had it in stock and it was on the bike in an hour.
I have had to replace many tires both rear and front while out on the road.
My last cross-country I left with fresh front & rear tires and still required three new tires along the way!
Generally costs around a $300 bill. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, but sometimes necessary.

How the hell did you manage that on one trip, smear your tires with peanut butter and bacon at Yellowstone and every bear habitat coast to coast when parked for the night?
Don't most people claim to get 5000+ miles on fronts and rears?

If I need a tire sudden like, I guess I would just have to ask around, but if I am planning a tire replacement, I order what I want a month or two ahead of time. I give my dealer a chance to get what I want, and if he will give me as good as an online deal, he can sell them to me. When ready I just bring in the wheels, and the tires are there waiting.
I bought Avon Cobra 71 and 72's online at Direct Cycle for $205 for rear and $170 for front....V rated.
Found approved installers on motorcycle superstore and they mounted for $220 all-in. Only got 7k out of Metzler marathon 880 xxl so I'm giving avon a try. Like them so far...1k.
