Living Legend
We also have to remember that not every race is determined by the machines. Each rider has different abilities. I remember in the early 70's my dad had a Honda 350, and a Pontiac Tempest he felt were evenly matched, and wanted to know which was faster. So he got my uncle to drive the car, while he rode the bike. He couldn't believe how much faster the bike was, so they switched. This time the car won by a big margin. The only thing that was determined was that my uncle wasn't as fast as my dad.
I'll open the can o worms, and solicit your impression of the 1400.
Just got it home ,and a Totally different bike to the touring, first impressions smooth as an electric bike, very it rolls into the turns so easy and a snack to move around the car park (305kgs fuelled) the riding position is fairly upright and the legs not bent awkwardly I am 6'1 so I can flat foot it at lights only used 1,2,3,and 4th so far, cruising down the freeway at 100kph it was just ticking over in 4th but I didn't want to load it up in the 5th and overdrive 6th, on paper and U tube these things are ridiculously fast but I doubt that I will ever see the top end of the bike ,so far what I expected, its no Rocket Touring but has all the creature comforts I have never had on a bike so we will see how long the Honeymoon lasts
PS Staintune exhaust and K&N filter already on order, a date with the Dyno guy a bit later on to get the restrictions removed(just in case)
