Well STRIPES, I hope to $hit in yer mess kit we do have similarities.
Ride fine motors . . .
Be old . . .
Yet still handsome and studly . . .
Like to be cool looking on our motors . . .
Still retain a touch of "Easy Rider" wanna be . . .
You have a point regarding your definition of ape hangers; however, I have seen the manufacturers even refer to 10" or 12" risers as mini-apes. Mine (V2K) are 16" and usually above the shoulder for most; but, I have a very tall torso and they sit my hands just below my shoulders. Very comfy, yet very cool.
Your bars look extremely comfy and definitely be COOL!
