After "farkle-izing" many too many bikes, I have turned a new leaf...

I can interchange my GPS between bikes & do the basic options for touring luggage & comfort. But I draw the line on performance (other than tune options) & custom parts/paint. But that's just me...I change bikes too often & they already go faster than I can ride them...and even just basic stuff like insurance/tires/etc. makes them mini money pits...

Which means they go WAY faster than I can ride them :(

If you ever wonder if you're spending too much and changing too many things just have a look at Ponters' bike. It will either make you feel much better or possibly inadequate. In any case, you won't feel you've overdone any of it. He still has I think 5 original parts on the bike (or is that 4?).
Awh , but Ponters bike is one that he must have woke up many times in the middle of the night broke out in a cold sweat. Jumped to his feet and wrote down notes on the dream he just had. Many many dreams for that bike to get to where it is. As a young man many a wet dream crossed my way, but nothing on two wheels ever came close to Ponters ride. Even had I been able to dream it, my bank accounts would not have allowed it. Oh I could have at the price of feeling the cold hard steel of Springfield 45 pressed to my head in question of the purchases. Ponters ride has surpassed anything I could have imagined, and I have a most vivid imagination. Guess perhaps he has raised the bar for me!

Yes I think I'm in the "leave it at standard tune level" camp. Waayy pokey enough for me. Currently tracking my sissy bar/rack across Europe via DPD en route from Dortmund to Birmingham. Collecting screen from triumph Birmingham today and long ride luggage should arrive by next week. Then all set for some weekend trips.:)

Yeah, me too. I have seen Ogre on the twisties:D
I am also an Advocate for leaving bikes in their standard form except for minor modifications ,this has not always been the case ,but the last 4 bikes that I have had from new I have left alone and had trouble free riding and got top Dollar trade in as an unmolested bike as apposed to a "modified "one ,I used to suffer from Tinkeritus(the uncontrollable urge to tinker) with my bikes, resulting in engine blow ups and other failures from my "performance modifications" and defect notices galore for exhaust and suspension mods, however the only way you learn is to have a go.

I can restore my bike to the original condition 100%. But am also having fun with it, having my cake and eating it too.

Sports screen now fitted but the brackets weigh a ton!!
Why on earth does it tell you to disconnect the battery and clutch cable in the instructions?? o_O
I may be missing something but as the spring clip for the clutch cables is paperclip shaped and easily sprung over the cable where's the need to disconnect it?
