just a little piece of info on a problem i had with a good customer.
late dodge full size van. i rebuilt the van transmission automatic a short time later she started complaining about the way it worked. she was losing power going up the hills. she brought it in and left it with me several times. finally i got to fell the problem and it was losing power on the engine. so i recommended to take it to a good mech. after a few mechanics told her it was the transmission i was forced to find the problem.
it was close to 6 months when it finally got bad enough where i could solve the problem.
the ecu was failing to give the injectors the proper signals. replaced ecu every one happy :)
usually takes the ecu a while to get hot and for problems to show their face.
my own 01 dodge durango when i have been driving in stop and go traffic in 105 degrees when i restart the engine it will not run wright for a little while i am pretty sure it is the ecu but in order to check i would have to lift the hood in 105 degrees and put test equipment on an engine that is 205 degrees so i say forget that $hit.

where is the diagnostic connector on a touring? that is a good question:D i think that some others have more info on that an how to work the laptop.

On my 08R3T it is tucked under the fuse block on left side of frame. You can get to it from the side cover or after lifting seat.

Come on Dave you cheeeep son of a??????? you have the biggest electronic show in the World each year in Las Vegas sell me one of your V8s (super cheap) and use the money to buy an up to date laptop.

Its not that I'm cheap, I have three laptops, from the first one I bought to the current one. I am not very good with the laptops but I somehow get by. i never been to the electronic show here as once I would leave the BATTERY SECTION I wouldn't know what I was looking at. however I do go to the SEMA show. By the way I do have a V8 Chopper for sale cheap right now. New they are sixty thousand plus when new but I have a 2006 with 4000 miles on it for 22000. Not mine but a nice one. Cheap in the V8 Chopper world, older Boss Hoss bikes are easier to find than the Choppers.

Thanks I will look or maybe my manual shows it. Today all my bikes are out of the garage along with our old 1938 Buick and we are waiting for delivery of some mobile storage shelving. I'm going to spend the next couple of days organizing our garage. NO FUN BUT NECESSARY

Warranty Terms & Conditions | Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia

The warranty does have exclusions and it states that any service that has been done (500 mile svc, ect) has to be performed & documented by Triumph authorized dealer. They probably just had to check to make sure that was all in line ;)

I have actually gave the same advice to a fellow Rocket rider to make sure while his rocket is under factory warranty/ extended warranty to service it through the Triumph dealer with Triumph trained techs for the above reason. I bought my 2011 Rocket new and also bought the extended zero deductible 6 year warranty, a few months back I took in for Its 20k service and told the dealer there was some oil leaking out from the main gasket that goes around the bottom of the engine? He checked out the problem pulled up the warranty on his computer and told me yeah no probs we'll let you know when It's done. no charge no drama no problem and I picked the bike up about a week later.

Every manufacturer will do an extended warranty, usually it is handled by a third party. BUT,we found out the hard way with my wife's cadillac, you MUST get it BEFORE the factory warranty expires. We put it on our young lads car,and on my truck, $1400 per vehicle, well worth it as electronic failure can cost big bucks. Talk to your dealership.
