once a computer has had the codes cleared it may take a couple of drive cycles to set the code.
for example after the work is done and i am road testing i stop a couple of times and turn off the engine and restart the engine to see if it will set the code.
a hard code will set a code every time u start the engine.(and is a lot easier to find) but yours is not like that it takes a while.
over the computer advice is hard because we do not have all the info. for example we did not know ABOUT THE OTHER TWO CODES.(sorry caps)we do not know if both tps comes with the new throttle bodys
it may be and installation prob but now they will have to do some checking now that the ck lite is back on.
may be the way mccruise was hooked up
of coarse it is always a simple problem once u have found it.:D
we will soon find out how good the mechanic is.

If the light comes on when you turn the key on, i bet something is failing the initial diagnostic when the computer starts up ....

The light ALWAYS comes on when you turn ignition on - it only goes off after you start it.

Letting it complete the sweep, for me anyway, is good practice - not because the computer is doing any 'computing' during this process, but simply that it allows the fuel pump to run for a few seconds to fully 'charge' the fuel rail to full pressure.
It is interesting to note however that the owner manual specifically states it is NOT necessary to wait for the sweep to complete before attempting to start.

Mine WON'T start until the fuel pump stops whirring and the sweep is done. Push button...no joy....wait a second for it to compose itself, and off it goes.

Above from the Roadster Manual - this note is not included in the Touring Manual - however their operation is identical so what is good for one should be for the other.

Again, not saying it isn't good practice - just that TRIUMPH says it is not necessary

i have never tried to see how fast it would start.
i will try to hold button in and turn on the kill switch.

The McCruise has been on for about 2000 miles without setting off a code so I don't think its that. Tomorrow I will bring the bike to them and hopefully they will at least read the codes tomorrow and I will let you know what they are. I am trailering the bike there so the light will still be on for sure when I get there. I have a special built open one bike trailer that lowers flat to the ground which makes for super quick loading and unloading so its easy to get the bike to the shop and drive my truck back home. The trailer was built for the V8 bikes which are to heavy to do anything with if they are broke down.

my thinking when they installed the mccruise that it probably had a connector that went in between the wiring harness and maybe it has lost connection. of coarse it can be many things.

Maybe that could be but when I took it on the test ride I tried the cruise to make sure it still worked and it was working just fine. Maybe something else came out of the wiring harness that would still let McCruise work but that would trigger the light to come on.

This morning I bought the bike back to Freedom Cycle and I picked it up about two hours ago. I will take it out and test ride it in another hour or so. Here is what I was told. When I first bought the bike there last week the tech diagnosed it as the throttle body. When I got there I told them that I only wanted the other tech to work on my bike as I knew he was the best they had and he had worked on my bike previously. The tech that did the original diagnosis did not install the new throttle body, he was a new tech. This morning when I got there I told the guy that installed the throttle body but did not do the original diagnosis that the light was on again. From what I was told is that the original did not do all the procedures necessary to make the original diagnosis and he skipped one important step which caused a miss diagnosis. The experienced tech started from scratch and this is what is on my paperwork.

"FOUND ECM FAULTY TESTED ECM PINS AND FOUND AN ISSUE CAUSING THROTTLE BODIES
TO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. INSTALLED NEW ECM AND RESET ALL ADAPTIONS, TEST RODE.

Another problem is that a new ECM is backordered so they took one off a new bike and put it on mine while they are waiting for one to get to their shop. I notice that a new ECM is $780.00, however
I was not charged anything. I am leaving shortly to test ride the bike once more. hopefully everything is fine.

On another note did anybody else have trouble getting onto this forum earlier today. Safari said it could not find the server on my computer.
