Here is my non-Scientific evaluation of ethanol gas on a 300 mile trip using one tank of ethanol (2017 Ram 1500 hemi v8) and one tank of real gas. the same speed 9 Mph over the posted limit I did 22.2 miles per gallon on the way down and 24.1 on the way back!
My truck seems like it has more pep I would say 10 hp seat of the pants feeling, it seems to run way better and smoother with less imput of the gas pedal to accelerate to speed. I drive this truck a lot 30k in a year and 3 months.
Like I said nonscientific but runs much better with real gas as I suspected all along!
Wish I could get real gas in the dumb state I live in!
So in retrospect you need to burn more gas per mile to save the environment with ethanol?

Ethanol in our fuel is a huge government scam that makes absolutely no sense. And now we may be getting E-15. Oxygenated fuels were introduced in the days of carburated engines but now with closed loop fuel injection systems, ethanol is not required.

Last three vehicles have used regular gas. Lucky here in Henryetta we have three gas stations and all three sell real gas. Ethanol is not popular around here at all.

The politicians know it's a scam. But they enjoy the votes and lobbiest kick backs they get from it. As always, follow the money.

I’ve noticed the same thing when I make out-of-state trips on my motorcycle , gas mileage gets better miles per tank is significantly better. But try explaining that to the idiots Who run the EPA

Just like watered down booze. You gotta drink more, to get the same effect! Ever hear of 3.2 beer?

Some politicians got together somewhere and said let’s force people to buy a product that gets less gas mileage, therefore they have to buy more of that product, and we get more in tax revenue.
And we will convince them all we are doing it for the environment.

We get regular beer next month here in Oklahoma. That should be entertaining. Everybody is use to 3.2 and next month we join the ranks of the civilized world. Don't know how well that's going to work out but am game.

Ain't it amazing how our gobment works! There you are, still drinking watered down beer, but can drive over the border and buy a bag of good smoke. And some 6% beer while you're at it.

I find when I get around areas of water there are boat gas pumps. Asked about it and it is ethanol free pure wonderful gas. Fill up with it every time I can.
