Engine Vibration continues

HEY what do the other Rocket owners say about vibration on their bikes ? WARP says his bikes dont have it but everyone I ride does SO ?????

As you may have read from my posts, only 2 out of the 4 that I have owned have vibrated. all others that I have ridden do not/did not vibrate. So, some do vibrate with the clutch issue that you have described and the majority, as we would hope, do not. I am in favour and want, one of those Rockets that don't vibrate. This vibration has not deterred me from owning a Triumph Rocket III. I just want one like what they described in the issue of Winter 2009 Issue 006 of Triumph (The Official Magazine of Triumph Owners Worldwide) where there was a write up on the new Rocket III Roadsters and how they were smoother than the earlier models. Simple.
 
Interesting that all the bikes have it that I ride But some say they dont have any vibes ???

Yes, Interesting. But they could vibrate from any one of a number of things. some of which can be remedied. Some apparently can't be remedied and it seems that some people are trying to brush it off as it is just the nature of the Rocket III engines. These seem to be people that do not own or ride Rockets daily or as much as the majority of those that use this forum for info and feedback. Thank you for your feedback IMFASTTOO. It has been interesting indeed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Roadsters did not come out until the end of 2009 - beginning of 2010. so you may have a Rocket III or a Rocket III Classic. Both excellent models and of the era of no vibrations. LOL
 
I rode a friends 2004 Rocket III last week. No vibrations and plenty of horse power.

I would say YES to that, but I am hoping that I am wrong. There is the issue of the condition of the oil too. I have never seen the oil so filthy or get so filthy so fast. To me, it looks like something is breaking down. There is a dark grey/black film underneath the filthy oil that coats everything it comes into contact with. In my experience with drag racing engines, this is the mains bearings breaking down or some other bearings breaking down. Sometimes this can be down to the type of oil that is being used. My first 2 Rockets only had Mobil 1 in them and the oil was clean all of the time with no vibration at all. I believe Triumph now use Castrol. When I took my 2013 Roadster to Experience Motorcycles in North Shore Auckland in February this year, they checked the oil and they found that the viscosity of the oil was crap and it had lost its viscosity to the point where I could see and feel it in the oil itself. The mechanic and workshop foreman did not like what they saw in that oil. They contacted Motorad to ask them what oil they were using in my Rocket.
 

ever though of having a test done on your oil by a good lab to get the definite answer?
