Emgo's vs K&N's

Opinions welcome. I think I am going to stick with the cut claw. The look is really starting to grow on me. The eight buck Emgo filters work great and the bike seems to run fine. I played with a polished aluminum insert for the K&N Ru2780's but I am still leaning toward the small pods.

take down to Maggie Valley in May and you'll get a lot of opinions.

The little ones look better with the cut claw.

They both look good. Where did you get the polished inserts for the K&N filters.

Maybe it's because I'm used to looking at K&Ns but the Emgos look too small for the engine, IMO. Apart from the look, I'd also have concerns about surface area, although I have heard they work fine. At $8 they're outstanding value for money and would be an easy fit under the claw. As you asked....., with your claw cut, I'd go with the K&Ns, especially with that shmick looking shiny cap.

I like the small filters on the silver engine, they show off the the TB's and linkage.

I like the larger RU-2780's on the black engine because they hide more of the TB's and linkage because they are unpainted.

Does that make sense to anyone but me? LOL

Just looking at this thread and was wondering how well those little EMGO filters perform. Are they a good alternative?

My favourite saying "bigger is better" applies I have gone even bigger to the K&N 4040 and feel they are better engine does not need to suck as hard.
Think of it this way what is easier sucking thru a thin straw or sucking thru a thick straw? There is your answer if you want to make power come out you have to let it in

Sorry I already sold my 2780's but you can get them from "Flipmeisters" he is a supporter of the site and a lot of us buy stuff off him, in fact I am just about to put an order in for some oil filters and brake pads not to mention some of his bling
Make Sure you get All 5 filters 2 small ones 1 for the rear crankcase breather and 1 for the temp sensor in the plentinun ( grey thingo under the tank has a sensor pluged into a rubber bung)
