Electrical fault?

hopefully it's a simple fix. I only put a new battery on it 3 weeks ago but I'll start there and check everything. I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

Check all the relays as well to make sure they are home all the way in the boots / connectors . this can cause a short.

Maybe load test the battery had a new one fail on my old ZX6 when I was down the island for the superbikes. Same thing only a couple of weeks old. Cell shorted caused all sorts of havoc then totally died.

After checking the battery connections, check the wire harness under the tank. Follow the wires from your key switch ignition to find the harness.
