The rust is one thing but they stamped the holes which deforms the disc as is evident by the lack of wear near the holes. So you get less contact area. I have used EBC rotors before and they were not as deformed as yours. Perhaps they are "off-shoring" now like many after-market vendors. Being non-stainless means they could be surface ground easily on a Blanchard grinder if you have access to one or a buddy who does. Bead blast them first, hit them with VHT hi-temp paint all over and then grind both sides to clean up 95% or better. Will look good and stop better.

Or get another set which will be most likely be similar to what you have.

The rear OEM is made by a pretty good marque too.
Here is a pic of the backside of the rotor. Same weird look by the holes. Sanded the piss out of the old rotor and reinstalled. Much better stopping power. I'm thinking the EBC missed an operation or two at the factory.

Fred - are you using EBC pads? When I bought my disc - a mate here with a bike shop gave me a set of EBC HH sintered pads. It's always a good idea to change pads with a new disc.

EBC Discs are BILLET Carbon steel - not stainless. So yes they rust. OEM Triumph are Stainless.
If I were the guy in the shop I'd tell you to take a hike. You got what you paid for.

I have one on my spare set of wheels. You can keep the rust at bay with some light phosphate treatment. I have it for refurbishing guns.
Personally I'd rather have carbon steel or cast iron rotors.
cast iron seems the best surface in dissipating heat but it rust

My Intruder has an EBC rotor on the front....I've never seen it rust....and my shop gets plenty humid. I'ma gonna put some on the Rocket, when and if it should ever need them.

The EBC fronts I´ve looked at all say STAINLESS - there is a lot more choice for fronts. I´d like BREMBO plain round cast iron fully floating on Dural carriers. But that won´t be until the originals warp or wear and I´m gentle on brakes generally.

Live in a desert like me - it's not a big issue.
indeed ... you still in spain in the summer of 17?? I intend to take my bike to the border town of saint jean de luz in 2017 for the summer riding the pyrenee and visiting friends in Bilbao and zazuar we could meet and share a cerveza or two..
