just had "PETER STEVENS MOTORCYCLES MELBOURNE" do the recall from my 2010 Roadster. the way they have run the cables is seriously as though the twit installing it really wants me to go and introduce his spanner to his forehead... going to take it to a decent workshop with a bit of work ethic or pride and have them install the EB kit.

in short, if your stealership is any where as wonderful as mine, tell them to shove the half arsed recall fix that far up there rear orifice that it comes out there nostrils.

just pay for the eb kit, get it installed and be done with it.

p.s. Have i mentioned my feelings about my dealership service department?

hanso, I understand the EB system, the power by passes all the switches and sends the power straight from the battery to the lights, the recall from whay you say just by passes the ign switch and sends the power to the lights via the dipper switch only.

The recall will take the power draw away from the ign switch but not be as good as the EB system in supplying full voltage to the lights.

Do I have this right.
Spot On
If you get stuck let me know, :D
Thanks Dennis I was going to offer to help over the phone but it will be easier for someone in the same time zone not mention being able to pop around

You are not the first to still put the Eastern Beaver kit after the recall

I did mine when it only had a couple of thousand k's on the clock and told my dealer he said no problems when I told him what I was doing and why, My dealer is Cool

Sounds like I better pull the side cover off and have alook at the workmanship of the bike shop. I will be pissed if its messy.
I will go down the EB way as well, put a relay on my 2001 Bioneville, made a big difference.

I understand the difference between the EB kit and the recall kit now thanks

With me having the recall kit installed can I install the EB kit as well or would it be better to remove the recall kit altogether before installing the EB kit?

For the question about the recall kit making the headlights brighter. I didn't notice any difference.

Depends what the recall kit consists of but I wouldn't remove it, you need to find out if the recall kit included a relay or some other Modification to protect the ign switch on your model.. if the kit protects the ignition switch I don't think you would want the EB relay kit. imho..

The headlights may be a little brighter due a little less voltage drop by the power bypassing the ignition switch, but I would think the EB kit will definitely improve the light brightness and guarantee the switch life.
