- 2023 Triumph R3 GT, 2022 Moto Guzzi V85TT,
Some may remember a week or so ago that I had replaced the main harness , and the bike would not start. No spark. I went pin to pin , looked over everything, verified the ECU was not at fault. Knew it was staring me in the face .
I Decided to leave it alone for awhile. Grand kids were in town , for 5 days, then went to the lake for 4 days. This morning I went out with the idea of disconnecting each cable connector, and cleaning with electronic cleaner. I started with the fuse box , then moved down to the anti fallover switch. It has to be taken out after two hold down bolts are removed . After I cleaned the connector I noticed that the switch body had the word "UP" on it. It will go either way . I had reinstalled it upside down . This is what was killing my spark.
In short the bike is now running. Goes to show the simplest things can be the hardest to find
This is the second time I have had problems with this type of switch . Last time was on the wifes 750 Moto Guzzi. She just stopped on the way up a hill. Took some time to find that one. On the Guzzi I was able to wire it out of the circuit.
