Good info...and yes, some transmissions were designed for downshifting in a wider range than others...either way the motul has made my tranny so much more bearable! Just like a women, when it's well lubed its much more desirable! haha.

Is the rumor true that Lamborghini designed the rockets transmission???

No problems for me although I do blip it going down to first at speed as to attempt to have everything spinning at a similar speed in the transmission

I find that rev matched downshifting seems to make it less clunky, (maybe the exhaust/engine noise/decel popping just disguises the clunk) but I dont have the guts to shift into first from anything but a standstill or close to it.

No not Lamborghini , it was designed by Luigi Mario !
The rockets 1st gear seems to have been designed for pulling steam trains and burn outs , I hate the clunk it makes when downshifting from anything above 5mph !

I only use first if I have tree stump that needs pulling up.

I don't know who designed the transmission. It is true Lamborghini did design and may be even manufactures of the final drive unit. I guess that is why it is so expensive and is only sold as a complete unit. No parts are available for it, only the complete chunk.
