Hi
I am thinking of fitting crash bars to my bike but not sure how much damage they would save. I am only thinking of drops and not crashes or side skids. I have tried google to find anything showing a rocket tipped over but have drawn a blank. Can anyone help, preferably with photos. Does it just protect the tank area? What about the rear area/indicators, etc?

cheers

The crash bars will hold up pretty good when I totaled my 06 classic bout 4-5 years ago they protected the engine from being damage I have a couple pix on here some where

My Rocket tipped over several times over the years and the crash bars helped a lot. Leather bags or crash bars on the back also help.

Yes they are good you will hear of the early ones being weak but not the ones since 08 they are strong and saved me quite a bit of damage last Christmas when avoiding a car I highsided

As the previous poster said, not that I ever tipped my bike over, but they are worth their weight in gold, trust me. ;)

not going to put the pics up but two guys on here seen mine in action yes they are WELL worth it

The reason I have them fitted is to create a space to get my leg out from under if it were to ever be horizontal.

Just as important during a slow speed u turn in a gravel carpark as when you are sliding down the road with nearly 400Kg's bearing directly on your ankle!!

The Kiwi.

I saw a post of an R3 fell over on its left side at low speed and brock the engine casing where the gear selector shaft comes out of the motor, I think it was deemed an uneconomical repair:eek: as the whole engine casing needed to be replaced.
No Engine bars were fitted to this bike.
