Detente spring

$2800 ?!?!?! That's obscene.
Triumph Australia did mine under warranty when I was out of warranty as a goodwill gesture.

He's a big hulking vice president of one of Sydneys 1% clubs .. was a bit cheeky that's for sure.

It's about 3 hours work. Not hard, but there are a couple of mods you can do and other things to check while you are there.

What mods if you don't mind me asking?

Replace the clutch fibers with MTC plates. Replace the clutch springs with heavier duty springs. Replace the lifting mechanism if it is one of the old ones. Replace the lifting mechanism spring with an external spring as per warp9.9's mod.

thats bad luck zim, who did you take it to and what did they slug ya if you don't mind me asking.

Jcs fixed it below cost for $328 inc labour and GST. The recommended time is 4 hours at @$110 + $6 for spring and coolant and oil top up if needed.
Last time the spring broke it cost $12


Im glad to see its not just me breaking them because I always thought I was relatively gentle on my trans

Bloke I know from Sydney got swindled by someone down there .. he was told the engine had to come out to replace the spring. I did try to tell him ( photocopied the pages from the Workshop manual and posted them to him) .. he ignored my advice .. $2,800 later he had a new spring.

Yeah ,well you know what they say about a fool and his money.

I have not done it before, but I am led to believe it is not difficult.
Ozrider and Evil mitch have done their's.

I considered doing it myself ,but my shed is crap with not enough light ,I got no fancy hoist and it has been raining .So I blew the cost
