Well finally got around to installing Ramair yesterday while viewing Wayne's instruction video on Youtube(excellent video btw), and came to a point where he was talking about removing the two 5mm bolts from intake plenum and how hard they were to get to. Well this was not a problem for me as they were not even there! So a little history on my bike...back in May I took to dealer and had them replace cam cover gasket(common problem on 14 Roadster) and a week later I left for Myrtle Beach bike week. On the way down while gassing up I noticed the front bolt holding gas tank on was missing, so once I got to MB I found a hardware store and resolved that problem and now I discovered this. Also, the rest of the bolts that would be hard to get to were barely hand tight and the ones that were easy to get to I could hardly break free. Hmmm. This is just a rant, I will be giving the dealer that did my work a call to tell them of my displeasure. On a lighter note the Ramair seems to work very well I will be taking ride later today as it is warming up to 48 degreees.

That is probably the biggest reason why most of us do our own maintenance! I don't trust ANY store bought mechanic to touch any mechanical thing I own. Google what you want to repair/modify, view how its done, and go to town. A lot easier then most think and the money saved will buy more tools then you need!

I stopped using my dealer due to loose, missing, and stripped bolts myself.

On a totally separate note Tbone, what is the bike in your Avatar? I've seen this photo before and "think" it's a Sonny Routt double engine Triumph Twin.

The bike in question was built and owned by Boris Murray it had twin 750 cc triumph motors running 92% nitro and held many records in the 70s. One of the first top fuelers.

I have only had the experience of dealer service once and that was for the 500 mile service to keep the warranty in tact. I must say I was very impressed with Falcone Motorsports in Indianapolis for that one service.

I purchased my R3T from Windy City Triumph in St Charles IL., but they are not the dealer that uncrated it and put it together.

I have been over mine a couple times and have found issues with loose stuff. I had a rattle that was driving me daft and found it to be the shield/ cover on the muffler on the shift side of the bike. I will give it a good going over this winter and check as many torque specs as I can.

A little TLC in this area never hurts.

I go over the whole bike every 3000-5000 miles to check for loose nuts, bolts, ect
