Dead Bike: Suggestions?

I put a Suzuki switch on mine and that eventually went out so I just stuck a plain old toggle switch on it.

I fitted my EB Kit yesterday, very simple and very happy with the result. Incase you were wondering why I have done so much work on my bike, it's been pissing down with rain.

OK,
Bike no longer dead. Turns out loose battery cable, now for problem #2.

Bike starts, revs up high settles down again. Check engine light is on constantly. Rev engine, seems slows to respond, the slowly returns to normal idle.

Suggestions welcome?

On the Eastern Beaver Kit does this involve rotating through 90 degrees and does it make funny noises when it slides down bannisters
