Confused about tyres

The touring weighs 395kg (not sure if this is a dry or wet weight) and my pillion and I weigh 160kg giving a total weight of 560kg before any luggage, poss gas etc.

The Avon and Metzeler tyres that are recommended fitment for our bike show a load rating 77 which equates to 412kg.

Have I got something wrong? doesn't seem to make sense to me

The standard/classic is 360 wet I think why is the tourer so much heavier ? Metzelers suck anyway mate

The load rating refers to the max load on each tyre, not the total weight of the bike (unless it's a unicycle). Not sure what the weight distribution is on a 2 up touring but I imagine it would be somewhere between 60:40 and 40:60. Either way, you're safe by a big margin.

Dunno but I rode a Roadster and it felt like an FS1E
