Cold Weather + Oil

Cold start

I seem to have finally fixed my cold start problem. I replaced the stock battery with a Shorai 405 cca + an Eliminator battery in the vacant air box chamber. Replaced the cables with 1 gauge battery cables, Shorai to starter,+ Shorai to ground . Joined the positive terminals with a 6 gauge. Ran both battery grounds to the original ground bolt.I live on a cold Island in Canada, the bike cranks very fast in freezing temperatures.(Don't know the cca of the Eliminator,I bought the biggest one I could fit in the air box)

Here in NW Florida the temps at times get down to the low teens f not c
my bike has never failed once to start in the cold, I do replace my battery every three years and have never used a battery tender, if your battery is not up to its max it makes life hard to turn our tractor engines over fast enough to start.

I recently fitted this battery and so far as I can tell it's a big improvment.Today after not running the bike for a couple of days it cranked over very strongly and fired up.Temp here was 5c didn't put heater on in garage and didn't use battery tender. Will keep you all posted how it performs in comin weeks.
