They were only 1/2" longer when supplied with the "kit"...not enough to be routed in the OEM location if you also installed the Rivco risers.

I ordered only the classis bars, not the kit, and bought the custom length cables in order to do the job right.

Hope this info helps...
I bought the Classic Bar kit and it came with the cables. I did not need them and went with the 06 that was on mine standard. I have seen so many people use the rivco risers and not need cables becuase they ran theirs down the other side of the bars (inside). It makes me wonder if you just might not be holding your face straight:D

I believe if you check Barnet makes longer ones also.

While keeping a straight face, if you read my post you will see that I said that I wanted the cable to remain in the stock position (which is on the outside, so as not to confuse anybody), and the "kit" with Rivco risers means not being able to do that without...as you say..."ran theirs down the other side of the bars (inside)."

Is that any clearer?...:D

You need +2" to do this properly.

YMMV

Excuse me I will keep a straight face and crawl back in my hole

Just got my local bikeshop to make one up. It looks ok, time will tell. I will keep a spare in the Pannier just in case.

Yes - yet another old thread resurrected! :) +2 inches with the Rivco risers, then, and not +3 or +4? I was thinking of replacing the throttle cables with platinum ones as well from Barnett while I'm ordering custom cables - +1 inch on those just to "loosen that whole thing up" even though the stock length works sound good to anyone but me?

I know you posted this in the Touring forum, Jack, but nowhere in your avatar or posts do you actually say which bike you have. It would make life easier for all, including you, if you put your bike under your avatar. Classic cables solve the problem for a Standard with risers but I reckon the Touring is a different matter. Some of the advice you've been given does not apply to your bike. Just put your bike under your avatar. Go on, do it. It won't hurt.
