I just pulled the trigger. Looking forward to seeing it in a couple of months!

Funny, I've ridden to Key West twice, from New Jersey back to Louisiana, to Maggie Valley, to Arkansas and Missouri, plus multiple trips to Texas, and never burned my jeans on the Carp pipe. I have ridden in shorts, hell at a couple of bike rallies I've ridden nude, and never burnt anything. If you want to compare performance, I'll post my dyno sheet if you post yours ;)
YES the CARPENTER pipes are designed to make MAXIMUM HORSE POWER and are larger diameter 2 inch head pipes and are a must if you want MAX HP

That my not be fair. Good possibility that the stock cams may not be the ones I put back in. Still a bit undecided.:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

I do have the sidewinders for my 2005. The pegs are farther back on the newer bikes so your leg stays further away from the pipe. I have burnt holes in 2 of my jeans and needed some type of heat shield. I talked to Bob and he said to get in touch with samson and order a heat shield designed for the head pipe on a 2007 Street Glide. I got it and it was shaped almost exact but still wasn't keeping the heat away. It did help but is not the solution.

I would also like to get some heat shields specifically designed for the sidewinders. If any are made it would be great to post it here.
I contacted Samson and asked for the heat shield you guys are talking about. They said if I could send them a picture of the heat shield, they could match and send it. Does anyone have a picture of the Samson heat shield fitted so I could copy and send to Samson?

The search for a good header pipe seems to be very complicated.
