I agree that it looks like a cutting of some sort and if it was steel or aluminum it wouldn't be as strange. It's the fact that it's chrome or some other hard material that cannot be machined like that and what is there in the engine that's made of that material that could be machined to make a shaving like that? More puzzling than a concern at this point. I guess once we're cranking out 200hp, if there is a problem, it will show up then!
 
I know what you are saying but it most definitely is not aluminum. Too heavy and too hard and it is very slightly magnetic.
