Need to replace my cam/timing chain. 95,000 klms and it's flogged. Anyone know size , pitch and number of links in a Rocket cam chain. Been quoted $365 AUD for a genuine Triumph replacement.... Any advice appreciated.

have you checked what NCY in the State's want for one

Not yet mate , hoping to get size , pitch etc from one of the Owners, then i'll hit a local chain supply joint. Pretty sure genuine Triumph be the dearest way to buy the chain here or even in the States. $1640 quote to replace the chain, just trying to save a few dollars where i can

Myself I would stay with an OEM chain, or maybe an aftermarket performance chain. Not all chains are the same. If you put an industrial chain on a motorcycle for a drive chain, you'll rag it out in a couple 1000 miles. I would imagine a cam chain would also be considered "severe duty". Just my 1/2 cents worth.

Preety good toget that manyy kms out of a cam chain considering how many roll ons these bikes get:eek:

the last cam chain I bought (this winter) cost 110.00 USD from Triumph of Indy.

I use the stockers in the Millennium Falcon, the newer chains made in Germany. I do not see any reason to change what works fine on heavier valve springs and big mother cams.
Just fired the beast up yesterday if I did not have a friends bike to haul to daytona I would take both mine.

2007 plated Rockets run a DID cam chain with 85 side links. Been led to believe that later models have only 84. Just for future reference for those that clock up the miles. $110 US compared to $365 AUD goes goes to show how much we Aussies are getting shafted by Triumph Australia.
