@RKTNMYPKT must have put the jinx on me!
Riding home form a friends funeral today mine went dead.
I had left the switch and lights on while at the funeral. Went to leave and the battery ran dead enough that it would not start but would light up and sweep.
Jumped started it no problem and then rode about 4 miles when it went totally dead. No lights, no sweep.
Had to have it towed home after a wait in the hot sun.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

They don't make them like they used to} hope is nothing serious, both of you

Sorry to hear about...all of that! Bad luck comes in threes. Wonder who's next?

Well, I had a nice ride today. Except for the trucks hauling sand! Left my brain bucket at home, cause it's so hot, and my face got sand blasted. (NO beard)
I can actually hear my TORS, with no helmet! I LUV my Rocket! Hard to keep the bugs out of your teeth when you're smiling all the time!

What do you think happened to your bike? Bad alternator? Bad ground connection? Blown fuse (hopefully)? I just read the procedure for changing the alternator and it's not pretty:
1. Remove the seat.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Remove the engine.
4. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

@1olbull, put it on a battery tender overnight and see if the battery is okay in the morning. How did your lights stay on? Did you turn the key to the left to leave the parking lights on, or just use the kill switch to turn the bike off and then forget to take the key out, or use the kick-stand to kill then engine while still in gear?

Aren't you keyless @1olbull ? Did you flip the kill back on before walking away? How old is the battery? If you got it started, there's only two reasons it wouldn't last til home: battery won't take a charge, or alternator. I'd say most likely time for (another) new battery?

it takes some serious charging to get it back up to normal.
if it is an old bat it might have just finished it off:(
