Broke down

At least someone's riding it.
Can think of plenty of worse weekends than one on a Speedmaster, but I understand your frustration. Hopefully you'll get the big one back soon. Better safe than sorry.
If it's the dealer you bought it from, why not see if they'll deliver it back to you. We do that with warranty work if the owner can't get there. Worth a try (you poor friendless bastard).

At high speeds or in a corner it would have been trouble, I think I got lucky this time

Glad that you didn't come to harm---wonder why most break-downs seem to occur in the most dangerous / awkward places

Well after having my bike for a week the Triumph Dealer called and said they have found nothing wrong with the bike and could not duplicate the problem

Triumph suggested they flush the brakes which they did.

Am I the only one here who thinks this isn't going to end well for me?

clean the return brake spring and pivot point on the lower brake lever. on the bar lever make sire you have free play. carry a wrench that will allow you to bleed off access pressure at the caliper. would not hurt to say a little prayer to the triumph god
of coarse the time to find out whats wrong with it is when its doing the problem if the brakes is dragging the first thing is to pull up on the brake pedal with your toe. if it is still dragging then take a wrench and bleed or loosen a line be careful not to get brake fluid in your eyes.
also ask the mechanic for their cell number.

my insurance always tell me i can have another tow after the problem is fixed.
i wonder how it will work in your situation.

Just disconnect the rear brake entirely! Remember, it's not supposed to be used anyway (he said tongue in cheek ). Though that would solve the problem of it locking

Well.......
Picked her up today after nearly two weeks at the dealer, although they didn't find anything wrong they flushed the brakes and changed the pads at no charge to me.
I gave the brakes a full working over on the way home and they worked flawlessly stopping the bike at every bar I requested with nary a complaint!
