I've had a professional vacuum brake bleeder that hooks up to my compressor to bleed brakes on all of my bikes for years. Can I do the same with the Rocket3 and vacuum out the old fluid at the calipers?

IMO those professional bleeders are for big / huge brake fluid reservoir, I would just use old school method OR a manual bleeder like below

There is also another method to make sure there is no air in the system, try watching this youtube vidoe

That's how I usually do it. Reverse bleed with a syringe. Makes sense to push the fluid in the direction the air wants to go. you just have to make sure the fluid is right to the end of the tube, so you aren't injecting in any air

I did a reverse bleed on a bicycle disc brake system when the traditional method didn't work. The reverse bleed worked like a champ. I'd be open to trying it on my Rocket 3, but there's still the question of the ABS module. Some say you can use TuneEcu and others no.

Yeah, ABS module is a bit of a mystery to me. I don't know if you never activated it, does the same fluid just stay trapped in there? I know you can ride some dirt or gravel and lock (or try to) the rear (or front if you're brave) and get fluid to circulate. Don't know about tune ecu. I know dealers can do a flush on the abs

There is an option to use TuneECU to activate the ABS solenoid and a great big warning before you use it. Ideally the ABS fluid would be changed out when you do a flush and refill, however that requires activating the system electrically to open the valve. The Rocket however is an open system so there isn't a need to activate the ABS, the shop manual provides instructions for simple brake bleeding when renewing the brake fluid.

I've also seen a comment about reverse bleeding and pushing air into the ABS system. Just gathering enough info to be dangerous.

Thank you for pointing out the brake fluid renew section of the manual. It seems like a normal brake fluid flush.

Your welcome. I have the PDF so it's word searchable. I also got the hard copy from the original owner in 8 booklets, not word searchable.
