small horse trailers like the 2 horse bumper puller I bought are built for approximately 1800lbs load, most have twin axles makes it ride straight and steady ( not spooking the animals) and electric brakes makes the stopping easier .
nowaday you can buy an aluminium one that weight half of the one I got but you look at $ 5000 on the used market mine was less than US $800

Works well IF you have the truck and tow capacity to handle the weight.
My Jeep only tows 2K pounds, so my 350 pound Aluma Trailer works well for me.
If I had the capacity, I'd have a nice covered trailer like you.
