I have the Harbor Freight MC lift, and have used it in the past on other bikes. However, on my new (to me) 2009 R3T, using my lift would invilve lifting by the crankcase/oil pan. Is the metal robust enough to be lifted that way? I have seen "lift brackets" by Flip, but cannot see how the front would mount...there are no holes for the pegs - at least as far as I can see.

So, how do y'all (pardon the southern term) lift your R3Ts?

CW

I have lifted my standard several times placing the front crossbar of the lift underneath the engine, never been a problem.

xhdskip has designed, and will sell a set of lift brackets. They mount in the holes useful for a center stand, or flip's paddock stand.

I use a table lift similar to: Motorcycle Lift Table - 1000 Lb. Capacity

Only mine is much better. :D:D

I use Flip's paddock stand (with cribbing) to raise the rear tire, and I've used a 2X4 on a floor jack under the engine to lift the front wheel and had zippo damage.

Normally you would lift a bike by the frame however, on the Rocket the motor is the frame. Just use some scrap wood to protect the raised fins.;)

Will do...guess I was trying to over-think it, huh!
Thanks,

I made a special bracket that fits in the two holes on the bottom of the frame just behind the engine. The bracket then sits on my lift and supports the R3 no problem you can even sit of the R3 when its off the ground, if interested I can post some photo's of the bracket and lift.

I use a 1 ton chain fall hanging from the trolley on my I beam in the basement works great. Also good for hanging Hogs, Cows and Deer for butchering. Oh and yes I said basement as the Beatie gets to stay warm in the winter and in the summer the basement is much more comfortable for the guy turning the wrench. :D

That is a riot. I do the same thing. My basement look like a bike shop!

Great place to hang out in the winter time! :D
