Best Exhaust Sealant ?

Ok so I have a couple of small leaks in the joins of my exhaust where everything meets the collector and I'm not using that crap muffler cement rubbish again . Me and it don't get along . So I want to use some of the high temp silicon style stuff anyone got any advice on which is best and where to buy "in Australia" cheers
 
If we're talking Jardines, I ended up welding the header junction.. I tried every type of sealant known. Within 15 mins of starting the bike, the sealant would blow out every time. The joint under the bike sealed fine. So, right now, if I wanted to remove the header, I would also have to remove the right side muffler with it, but it all goes on just fine.

I disconnected the battery, snugged up the headers, mounted the right side muffler and snugged it up where I wanted it. Then put some tack welds at the joint so it would hold together. Then took the header/muffler assembly off and welded the rest of the way around. Been running that way for years now.

I used this on mine, only been about 3500 miles but smoke testing shows no signs of leaks.....
 
Thanks guys . Don't worry Tx I considered welding it but I'll try Bonecarvers suggestion first because I am thinking of changing to a single silencer setup later on and it will be easier to get off. Thanks to u both
 
I had the same problem with my old V-45 Honda Magna. I put a chrome RC Engineering 4 into 1 header on it. Looked and sounded beautiful......except where the collector joined the muffler it always blew dirty water out on cold starts. I ended up using 600 deg. silicone sealant. I bought it at a place that sells wood heating stoves. The only problem was (at that time anyway) it only came in red. So it didn't show, I applied it to the inside of the muffler so none of it squeezed out onto the collector. It might come in black these days.

Well I was doing a search last night on the net and found that regular exhaust cement is not ideal for stainless systems and a hi temp silicone style should be used instead . So I'll see if I can find the type Bone carver has suggested or similar . Explains why it just started leaking out of the blue . Probably lucky it sealed the first time
 
Selleys Silicone 401 industrial strenght adeseive, My triumph dealer put me on to it and it works a treat used it when fitting my headers, the good news you can use it for a multitude of jobs and it is Hi Temp
