I was out for a ride on my bike last night when I stopped for a red light. A stinking bee or a wasp stings me right in the throat in the small gap between my jacket and helmet. Turns out I am allergic to the sting....barely got myself home before I was big time swollen up and could hardly breathe. Got to spend the night in the hospital and I am now the proud owner of an epi pen!

Glad you made it home rather than suffering something drastic mid ride! For those allergic, that can be a pretty bad situation.

Holy crap.
That's a tough way to end a bike ride.
Keep the pen with you. You never know....

Glad your okay .seriouly nasty when allergic to bees I am as well.we used to grow I suppose is the word our own honey when I was a young fella .fortunately for me the bees were not aggressive.from time to time I'd cop a sting never in the throat thank god .i got bit on the foot once and could fit into my fathers slipper(shoe)

Same boat here... don't leave it on the bike if parked outside, they can't be exposed if to much heat or direct sunlight. If insurance don't cover all the cost there are $100 off coupons online.

I was riding along the interstate one day when a wasp or something decided to fly into my t-shirt sleeve. It ended up stinging my back several times trying to find a way out while I slowed down, stopped, and removed my shirt - which is not easy when wearing a helmet. I am now more aware of proper safety attire, so roll up my sleeves so the blighters can't get in. I can only imagine how bad it must be when you also have allergies.
