Sadly we'll never know!.

I admit - seeing your Jacket has REALLY removed my confidence in most fabric Jackets - unless they are 100% lined in Kevlar or Dyneema.

It was a miracle the back protector stayed in as most of the pocket had disappeared, shudder to think what would have happened if it hadn't.

I'm in the process of looking at Dyneema jeans, Saint cc

QUOTE="Paul Bryant, post: 561656, member: 6118"]We had been out on the West Coast some years ago when I got stung just to the right of center at the top of my nose right between my eyes, Bar stuard I thought, pulled over, scrapped the sting off then kept going.
Slowly my right eye started to close up so pulled over and had a break for a bit.
Then my left eye started to close up and thought sh!t I'd better get home.
By the time I got home I could hardly see at all and my whole face had swollen up :(
Took about three days to settle down.

If i came home looking like that Mrs Hunt would've made me put my helmet back on

I've got a denim vest ordered. It's been a week now, and the sting is still sore. Actually formed a scab over the bite hole! What ever it was, I hope we do not meet again. Lot's of honey bees in this area cause of the orange and veggie groves, but this thing that got me was a real bad ass. Have been hit by the honey bees in the arms and neck, no big deal.:sneaky:

I got stung by a wasp in the exact same spot. Eyes swole shut like that. It is a dangerous spot to be stung because skin is thin there and a lot of blood circulation in the area.
I looked just like your picture, but with hair, beard, and WAY better looking      :p :p

I think I found the culprit. "Cow Killer" I had forgot about them, but my Pop had warned me about them when I moved here in 92. Bad dudes for sure.
Cow Killer
Now for the good news they are endemic to the WHOLE continental USA including Hawaii. :(
The flightless females are said to have the killer sting but the males fly and presumably sting too.
