Be aware - Thunderbike (now shipping pre-paid)

Ordered a set of the oversized T-bars from them on 7/11/2010; been in conference (via email) several times with Kevin about the delays (from Thunderbike) and it now boils down that they're having an issue with their manufacturer of the bars, and are trying to work to resolution with them. No ETA for that as of yet. So, I'm not sure what exactly what it is, but am getting/requested my deposit back.

So, if you are contemplating chromed Thunderbike products; I'd hold off for a while, until they get things sorted out...

..did they go with a different manufacturer????..glad I got mine when I did..these big bikes call for big bars..hold out Will for the 1 & 1/2" er's.....put 'em on the Rivco risers..you'll need 2" over brake lines..add the Utopia backrest and you're all set.....ride Capt'n ride.....

Excerpt (from the last email I recieved from them):

I'm afraid I don't have any good news for you. The chroming was done and the bars have been finished but we are now in dispute with the manufacturer of the bars who is holding the shipment pending a resolution. He manufactures quite a bit of product for us so it's important for us to get back on track there.

I can't say when that's going to happen though so I don't have a problem refunding your payment if you decide to cancel the order.

I'll reorder them again; once they become available. I've asked Kevin from Thunderbike to email me and let me know when they have them in hand.....

..ah, such is life in the corporate world I guess..they did offer two different sizes..1 & 1/4" and 1 & 1/2"... I got the 1 & 1/2" and used a P clamp to mount the gauges up on the bars, where they should be IMO ...makes 'em much easier to read going down the road....there is enough slack in the wires that you don't have to add any extensions..

Well, Thunderbike appears to be a reputable company; at least from this customer's view. I just got my credit card refund back from them. A lot quicker than for some merchants here in the states.

Good news! Thunderbike said that the manufacturer in Christchurch will now release the T-Bars on a pre-paid basis... I'm re-placing my order for them....

Can you take a picture when you have time, and post it so I can see how you mounted the gauges with the P-clamp?

That's great they sorted it out .They have been around for twenty odd years.things must just be a bit tough ,as is in the rest of the world.I have their 11/4 tee bar very happy with the look and feel.
