Been patiently waiting for a decent aftermarket hard luggage option for the R3.

Finally found something worth the money!

They use the H&B C-bow mounts.
22L so similar to the genuine triumph bags.
I think they look pretty good on the bike.
The mounts are not as discreet as the triumph ones when the bags are off, but they are also half the price of the Triumph ones, so I can live with that.

They recommend only 3kg payload per bag, but these things are solid, and the mounts are solid. I wouldn’t be worried about doubling or even tripling that.

Bit tricky to get the mounts bolted in correctly - they go through the mudguard and bolt into into the mounts for the sissy bar (or just nuts if you have the 3R).
Getting the bolts to line up with the holes in the sissy bar is an exercise in patience and persistence, or in my case, lots of swearing. I also stripped the Allen head on one of them so it is never coming off.

The only thing I dislike about the bags, but something that is common with hard panniers - most of the inside space is in the “lid”, which folds out. So you really need to pack them laying flat, off the bike, and never open them when they are on the bike or all your **** falls out.
You can buy matching inner soft bags, so you load the soft bag with your stuff, then wedge the bag into the panniers. But I didn’t shell out the extra for those. I figured I’d just take the panniers off and do the packing/unpacking off the bike. They are so easy to take on and off, and they’re not heavy.

The added bonus is they give you some tie down points for tail bags, something the Rocket is sorely missing.
