Battery

I wonder if that system would dampen the charging and help protect the lithium ion from a charge cycle it does not like?

I, not sure but it does have a minimum charger requirement of 6 amps. So I do not use a tender or trickle I change it maybe once or twice a year when I think about it just in case. but it has never failed. It It spins her over like a mad man

Well with about 900 CCA that is power to spare, might seem like overkill but it is there when you need it, great idea.
I was actually wondering about the charge it receives from the alternator when you are riding the bike.
My stock with the battery only a few months old seems to struggle a bit when hot. The only accessories I have added are a wide band O2 sensor max 3 amps and a GPS. I will rewire them to only be powered when the starter is not engaged ( like the headlights) and will do the negative cable mod.

Yes a man up near you told me the better the battery power source the better the electronics. I was running more then OEM at the time because if boost. And I believe he was right!

I've gone out in below zero weather and fired mine up. Not to ride, I'm Polish not stupid
Then it is a LiFePO4.

My experience of running a LiFePO4 and lead-acid in parallel here was that the lead-acid dried out faster. Notwithstanding I know that in some of the colder US states the emergency ambulance guys run as you do for the same reason. But LiFePO4.

At my mums plain Lithium-ion cease to operate "first push" at about 4 or 5 °C. But her garage is not heated. Here I have tested my homebuilt at below zero - no problems.

I keep a Li booster when I travel - and it sleeps indoors.

My homebuilt pushes out up to 560amps - I originally built one twice the size (1120) - it smoked the starter motor.

Just what is wrong with the stock battery. Never had a issue and lasted almost three years. Bought the same and installed on bike last weekend. Works fine for me. Never once got stuck anywhere due to a bad battery. Think about it never got stuck anywhere i did not want to while riding the Rocket period. 47,000 mile in all types of weather. Cold down to 7 degrees and hot to 113 degrees never a issue. Bike started. Good with that. Thought i would mention never used a battery tender. To much of a hassle when you ride the #amn thing everyday.

My 2008 delivered Touring is still running it’s original battery , sat on Triumph trickle charger mostly for first 7 years bought it with 8000 km on it in late ‘15
now has 50 k on it and battery still going. Yuasa gets it right occasionally.

Depending on what I've eaten I've been known to have a bit of an "aura" . At one time I had three 2005 vehicles that had original batteries that were 11 years old. One of those was the Rocket. I did find at Maggie valley it wouldn't start on very cold mornings. I went with the 310cca Yausa the next spring. I still have the factory installed battery, I use it when I need 12vdc to test something.
