Battery drain due to ignition bypass?

I did the Beaver headlight/ignition bypass, the one from the guy in Japan. I will probably take it to a bike shop. I appreciate all the posts, but I have no aptitude for this stuff. I still think this is related to this Beaver part I put on, as I had no problems last winter without it. Oil changes and painting parts, thats what I am comfortable with.
You probably disturbed the harness going to the ignition switch when routing the headlight wires up to the bucket. could be one of the solder joints is letting loose. I think thats what happen to mine which I will be investigating this winter when I do the custom head bolts. But just for ****s and grins check you license plate light bulb to make sur eit is good and not vibrating loose. I remember someone having problems with his bike and it was the bulb starting to short out. Things vibrat pretty good on the back of the fender.

i will try to give you some info. there are two guys with starting problems. just because they don't start don't mean you have the same problem. there can be many problems that cause this, such as warp said (you could have problems with power coming from the ign, bat wires pos&neg, starter drawing to much current, even gas not up to par can give you problems, bad battery, connectors, ect.
some times it is cheaper and quicker to take it to a mechanic that knows what they are doing and a lot less frustrating.
IF YOU SHORT THAT STARTER THE BIKE WILL TAKE OFF UNLESS IT IS IN NUETRAL!
to run a jumper wire you go from a positive wire or bat to the smaller blade connector on the starter solenoid. you can use a small wire 12-14 gauge. That would be one test to check solenoid, starter, bat wires. if it cranks real good then you move on to next test if not you have to describe in detail what happen fore us to help you. that's why it might be better to go to mechanic.
