Avon's ( OOOH NO ANOTHER TYRE THREAD !!!!!!!)

Question! When dropping the front to a 140 do we need to reprogram the ecu for the speedo?

Just got home from a ride to the Columbia River Gorge and back to San Diego. The Avon Eagles handled well rain, shine, wet or dry. Ran triple digits all 975 miles home. Even had the throttle pinned for three miles with a top speed of 140. I will be checking the tire wear and tear after she's cool.

I'm receiving my second set of Cobras tomorrow. My stock metz lasted around 14000 km (8700 miles) I replaced them with Cobras front and rear and now I'm at 34000km (21250 miles). I got aproximatly 12500 miles on this Cobras, can't complain. I don't ride her too hard and most of the time accelerate normal. Found them great when it's dry.

you must ride like a crazy man who thinks it his last day on the planet or your roads are like sand paper or both perhaps ....do you not have a tread depth requirement round your way not only illegal but must dangerous in the wet

I'm disappointed to be honest

Who are you referring to here Racer ?

I suspect he is referring to me. First off, when I ran flat out at 140 I was on a portion of the Eisenhower Freeway that is straight and flat for 5 Miles in the desert and it was vacant so it was only my ass. As I ride in full body armor I figured if the Rocket couldn't take it I could slide to a stop without hitting anything. As for the pace on the Hwy. Grandma in her minivan was traveling at 90 to 95 so my triple wasn't much faster than the other lemmings in the line. I would never consider riding with others at the pace I ran, but this was my first touring distance on my R3. Sorry to disappoint but now I know how this machine responds and what I can expect. It's A lot.
