Well I suppose they might - if it were not for the fact than many owners seem not to grasp the most basic facts about electrickery.
I see folk daily using "computers" that are close to innumerate - and think an X-Box is a Super-Computer.

Anything that has connectors WILL fail.
But PCB component soldering really needs to be done with a flow solderer to avoid dry joints. Now Fred may have one - but I don't.
 
I got that. i am just really curious to see if you get the tach sweep by rocking the bike in gear before starting. If it does, and a replacement speedo is the fix for your bike too, we may have a way to help others diagnose this issue in the future.



I had to throw the bike back together quickly as I have a fellow rider from Florida showing up tonight. When I get a minute I'll plug the old one back on and test your theory.
 
Glad to Hear that, i also ordered mine thru the dealer(ouch), should be here Today, once i install it i will post the out come.
