I see great customer ratings on Amazon for Armor All wheel cleaner. It's not recommended for uncoated wheels. I assume my 2011's wheels are coated. Have you used it?

My plan is just to wash the wheels with something that's appropriate for aluminium (if the R3T wheels are coated, it's not by much, my rear is corroding all over the place after just two years on the road). Then get some overpriced but useful buffing balls from Flitz to put on a drill and some of their metal polish.

I've seen other posts recommending the flitz ball and purple polish so they seem like a good bet. For now, I'm trying to find an easier way to keep the grunge off the back wheel.

Soap, water and a brush would be my recommendation, or indeed something else that's appropriate for (basically) uncoated aluminium. It's going to be hard keeping the wheels pristine without some elbow grease, but I suspect that the Flitz polish followed by some beeswax would mean you could get away with polishing just a few times a year. Aluminium corrodes, that's just the way it is.

Lots of Roadster pilots (well, some Roadster pilots) here have powdercoated their wheels for both looks and ease of maintenance.

I'd love to get mine coated too but nothing would look right to me on the R3T except chrome and untreated polished metal... so since http://www.calchrome.com/CalChrome-Clear-Coat would set me back a grand easy with shipping and the like halfway around the Earth, I guess I'm polishing and liking it.

When I win the lotto I'm going to have my R3T painted maroon metal flake and the wheels chromed!
