2008 R3T with lots of changes
Hey out there in R3TLand, do you ever wish your ride had more brakes up front?
Consider that Triumph uses this same caliper on other models that weigh HUNDREDS
of pounds less than our R3T's?
I took a look and decided I wanted more. So I did some CAD layout work and designed
some nifty little caliper mounts for some 6 piston calipers. So now, my 2008 R3T runs
with Hyabusa 6 pot Tokico units. I installed braided lines with this and it seems to work
pretty well.
If somebody can post info on how I can get pictures up on the site, I'll share some pix.

Easy.

Set up a free PhotoBucket account for yourself, and e-mail your pictures to your account (you can upload them from a PC too; if you need to go that route).

The just select the proper "IMG" code for your picture (pull down menus on PB make it very easy); and paste them into your post.

Rick

I have the Pretech 6 pots, a nice improvement. Big thanks to Trirocket 3.

You can upload a file straight from you hard drive. Just click on the button below the box where you post that says (strangely enough) upload a file :). Once it is uploaded you can either insert it as a thumbnail or as a full pic

Well, I dunno, I never use more than 2 fingers on my front brake, usually only 1. I did have the anti-locks cut in once, when a broad with a cell phone stuck in her head, turned right in front of me. My 2013 has enough up front, for me.

speaking of friction the basics of braking is the coefficient of friction between pads and rotors
adding pads (six vs four) is only a small incremental improvement , choosing a better rotor like cast iron with specifically adapted pads will do a far superior job

or like behringer brakes offering double rotors each side up front with pads on three sides or ceramic/carbon combo ( ****.. I wish i could afford them)

I use Pretech 6pots with aftermarket discs, Pretechs cost me £185 each including pads.
Pretechs have been used by BSB superbike racers so they WORK.
Are beringers any better, could you tell the difference, other than the ridiculous price I doubt it.

do not know if one is better than the other never had the chance to use pretech I rode once a bike with the behringer race brake and they were shaving speed unlike anything I experienced before also got the reasonning behind the differerent materials used in combination for racing JM2CTS

FYI, the first time I changed the brakes, I just put them on and drove away. It felt like Harley brakes. This forum taught me how to burn them in. This made a huge difference. Now, I can brake hard enough to lock the front. You might want to make sure you are braking them in properly.
