I'm at 17K miles and will soon go in for my first valve adjustment. I was considering removing the head and having my friend port, mill and maybe even big valve the head.
If I do this, I'll be in need of a better flowing header. I have good flowing D&D's that are loud enough. I have been told that I will also have to degree the cams using slotted cam sprockets. Anybody out there in Rocketland ever do any work of this nature? I'm not looking for a Pro Street drag racer, just some nice extra punch while keeping stock like civility. I still want a pleasant touring bike, not a twitchy, pain in the ass.

And yes, Warp has lots of good info!!! I may also go to a header, but not until I see what the crossover box elimination does for the breathing situation. I also have the D&D's , but in looking over the rest of the system it appears that the box, not the header itself is the worst enemy on the touring. I have yet to see anyone that is marketing a crossover for the touring, so I am in process of fabricating one. Will post my progress.
