Another attempt at fitting the Custom ITG filter.

That bottle was the main reason this project took me so long to do, I never wanted to deal with moving it lol.

Ramair thought of having a slimmer one 3D-Printed. But the ITG was designed to fit with the OEM one. Supposedly for 300bhp-ish. More than enough for me.

For anybody interested.

As the **** bolts to fix the mesh have not arrived: and I had to go and get fuel - I slipped the Ramair back on - but left the open sided "claw" on.

Buddy Holley's little friends are back - chirping soto voce at under 2500rpm.
From 2500-3500 there is some solid Jack-Hammering but not excessively loud.
Over 3500? - To simulate do the following. Breathe out. Open mouth and lift head. Breathe in FAST through mouth. That noise!.

Bolts arrived.

So - after a bit of head scratching because the blighter kept popping off. I swapped to the Triumph "jubilee clips" and sits fine now.

I mucked up forming the rear compound curve. It'll dent anyway eventually - Easy to replace.

And having outwitted this weeks electrical gremlin - Have the POD display ready to log AFR.

Had not planned to mount as visible - but Rob pointed out you have to manually activate the logging - middle button. Dual-Lock.
Out of sight whilst riding.

Road test tomorrow. Have reset all trims to 0

YES just trim 2 inches off the mesh then it will look good

No way for me to get near a Dyno - otherwise I would not have to do all this PCV stuff.
And I am not interested in power, Art. Smooth, not too thirsty between 120-140kph and easy to maintain is the goal.
I'd frankly forgo power above 4000rpms for (say) a reduction of .5L per 100kms. Certainly in top.
A little more torque between 1700-2700 would be nice too.

Cut 2" off the mesh, and my trousers rub the foam - and that was the reason for the mesh. So no.
I prefer clean trousers and no foam wear. The sticky stuff used by ITG and Ramair is a bugger to wash out.

But that makes maintenance (throttle balancing for example) a PITA. But yes - in terms of power it could be.
ime however the bike runs smoother since removing the restriction between inner and outer plenums. So that's my plus.
Then again the filter box makes a good place to fit electrics.
Short stubby exhausts makes getting the real wheel off easier.

Today's POD logging test run was all backroads - I still have to mine the data but I'll bet I was in the LOAD tables almost permanently.
Next run will be more representative of my normal rides.

In my two years of tuning on my R3 I've found that ultimately aside from full throttle a 13.2-13.5 "feels" the best. Cruising on the freeway anything over 14.5 or so feels a little "off".

As a result I realigned gears 1-3 to all target 13.5 up to 40% and 60,80,100% are all 13.0 in the tables.

The rich swing during quick throttle transitions you'll see in the logs can't be tuned out.
