if you want to check the condition of your battery there's a easy way you can do it. Connect a voltmeter to a fully charged battery and it should indicate 13.2 volts. if you don't have a set of alligator clips on your voltmeter you may need another person to hold the voltmeter leads to your battery. As you do start or attempt to start your R 3 and if the voltage drops below 10 volts while its cranking your battery is most likely bad.

Thanks for that buddy

Welcome from Downunder. Hope you can sort your battery problem. The best way to keep it healthy is to ride frequently and for a decent distance - every day if you can manage it. Otherwise a battery tender is a good investment. Good connections are vital.

Think I'll defo try the larger gauge ground...seems to be one of a few 'simple and effective' tinkers :)

That of course being i can find the other end if the cable haha

WELCOME to the best MC forum on the planet from WA.
A new battery usually solves most those problemas.
Good riding!

Heaven's not far away, mate, so don't despair!

Greets Baz, bit late must of missed your original post. Love Cheltenham, used it as a base for a 3 day tour around the Cotswolds couple of years ago. Bourton on the water, winchcombe, Stow, Moreton, Broadway, Tewksbury, Toddington. Even popped over to Wales, Wye Valley, Symonds Yat, down to Chepstow. Loved it, especially as it was late July and nearly 30c.
